Murray Bridge radio announcer, 5mu’s Barry Martin, has announced his retirement after receiving devastating health news.

Barry was diagnosed last year with mouth and jaw cancer and endured several surgeries, a lengthy stay in hospital and daily radiology treatments, but he’s now been told the cancer has spread to his neck and chest and is inoperable.

Barry has thanked his listeners for their well-wishes and says he wants to spend time with his wife, Roxy and visiting family and friends around Australia.
