Host arrested on child pornography charges

A U.S. radio host has been arrested on Child Pornography charges.
 
Instagram reported the crime when they realised a customer in Anchorage had uploaded 13 images depicting child sexual exploitation. 
 
James LaPlante, (pictured) on-air name, “Jimmy O’Brien” from country music station KASH 107.5 in Anchorage, Alaska was then arrested when the computer and the home address the photos were uploaded from was investigated.
 
Instagram alerted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children who in turn contacted the Anchorage Police Department.  Google also got involved in the investigation and found that  LePlante shared illegal images online from a computer owned by his employer, iHeartMedia.
 
Search warrants were then issued for the KASH107.5 radio station offices and additional evidence was also on his iPhone. Investigators reported… “extensive chat history between LaPlante and numerous minors he had solicited for images.” The station immediately posted a message on the KASH 107.5 Website that LaPlante was no longer working there.
