Police confiscate semi-automatic gun from radio host

Police confiscated a semi-automatic handgun from a western New York radio host after the man was spotted early in the morning stalking around his backyard.

Tom Bauerle, 50, (pictured) had blasted state Governor Andrew Cuomo as a mentally ill and vindictive man on air. He then, it seems, feared that Cuomo was so intimidated by his dissidence that he sent spies to his home in of Williamsville, N.Y

One law enforcement source said: “He’s out there searching his yard with a loaded gun. That is a cause for concern.”

Bauerle reportedly consented to a psychiatric evaluation later that day but refused to turn over any of his guns other than his licensed and loaded semi-automatic handgun. The other weapons were entrusted to his attorney.

Apparently, the talk show host told a cop that he thought a tree in his yard was a human being and the cop needed to whack it with a yardstick to prove it was not a person.

Bauerle was not on the air during his regular timeslot, 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday or Thursday, but returned on the Friday. He cited hitting a wall of exhaustion and needing to catch up on sleep.
