Des was the Director of Technology for Austereo from its inception in 1980 to September 2009 when he retired. Des chairs the CRA Digital technical advisory committee (DTAC)the industry group responsible for the rollout of DAB+ in Australia. Des is now a freelance broadcast consultant for FM and DAB.
