About Matthew Brokenbrough:
Matthew, known on the air as MJ, is the Breakfast Announcer & Promotions Coordinator at 93.5 Eagle FM, a part of the Capital Radio Network. At Radio Goulburn (Eagle FM & 2GN), MJ supports the team through graphic design and digital content production, operations work and more in addition to on air duties. MJ's foray into radio begun in 2014 when he launched Planet Country, an award winning country music crossover format program. MJ also runs his own internet radio station in his spare time.

MJ wants to pursue operations and announcing work further in the commercial radio industry.

His foray into media actually began in high school, writing for  ‘The Sporting Journal’ website and American automotive news & opinion site, ‘GM Authority’.

MJ's radio endeavours begun in community radio after graduating high school. Starting a community radio program with his father ('Big Stu') where he discovered a new calling. Throughout his time in community radio, MJ interviewed his favourite musicians on award show red carpets, at festivals, and even commentated live NBL basketball. MJ's various roles and experiences in community radio included working as a board member.

As a board member, MJ developed a new station website and led a station-wide switch to new playout software, training over 100 announcers and laying the foundation for improved programming and music scheduling. MJ was recognised for this mamoth task when he was a finalist in the 2019 CBAA Awards for Excellence in Technology. MJ along with co-host Big Stu, were also multiple finalists in the Australian Country Music People's Choice Awards and won the 2017 award for Most Popular Radio Station or Program for their show Planet Country.

MJ’s passion for radio led him to studying the Advanced Diploma in Radio Essentials at AFTRS in 2018. It was his growing ambition and desire to know more that led him to return to study the Graduate Diploma in Radio.

In May 2019, MJ's commitment to further development and a desire to move into commercial radio saw a former community radio contact recommend MJ as his successor at Capital Radio Network's 93.5 Eagle FM. Since his debut on Eagle FM in May 2019, MJ has helped the station grow through building strong relationships with clients, developing a strong social media prescence and improving the on air product through operations work with Zetta and G Selector software.
