We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Journalist to fill a vacancy within the Illawarra’s No1 radio station i98FM based in Wollongong. 
Do you want to be a part of our team?  We are offering a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Journalist to fill a full-time position and be a part of the best news team.  Reporting to the Program Director, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality news stories and bulletins with high relevance and appeal to i98FM’s listeners throughout the Illawarra. The Senior Journalist will also manage newsroom operations and activities to support the programming objectives of the station and to enhance and promote the reputation of the station.
The successful applicant will demonstrate: 
·      The ability to deliver a contemporary style News bulletin.
·      Experience reading news in a CHR format.
·      Ability to work as part of a team.

  • An understanding and working knowledge of media law.
  • Ability to build relationships - establish networks & maintain contacts.
  • The tenacity to chase down a story, and the flair to see that story from conceptualisation to presentation in a way that it becomes a “must hear” for our listeners.
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
  • Previous radio experience and a proven track record in radio news.
  • Formal qualifications in Journalism.
