Northern Territory Broadcasters Mix104.9FM/ Hot100 is looking for a broadcast and online journalist to join our high-energy news team. You will be responsible for delivering afternoon news bulletins and publishing original news stories on our websites and across our social media platforms.
The person we are looking for will have an active interest in local affairs and be able to develop a network of contacts. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, excellent organisational skills, a willingness to learn and is not afraid of the occasional 4am start.
The Wage
$53,000 – $71,000 based on experience

Job Description
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Source, research and prepare news stories
- Interview, record, edit grabs for broadcast
- Write and present hourly or half-hourly local bulletins, headlines and reports to air
- Convert radio scripts into online stories to share on our websites and social media
- Develop and maintain close working relationships within the radio network and community
- Be able to make sound editorial decisions on the best angle from which to approach a story
Required Experience
To be considered for this position, you will need the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in journalism or communications
- The ability to work to precise deadlines
- A deep understanding of media law guidelines and industry codes of conduct
- Excellent presentation, communication and written skills
- One year of experience in broadcast media preferred but not essential
- The ability to adapt writing and presentation style in line with market needs
