About triple j

triple j is Australia’s biggest youth media brand: we’re right across video, social, digital and also doing audio via podcasts and radio. We passionately champion new music, help local acts get a leg up, explore pop culture, news, and anything that matters to young people. Our broader network includes our sister stations triple j Unearthed and Double J. We also love live music and have been recording it at pubs, clubs and festivals for our audience for nearly 50 years.

triple j is a supportive and inclusive workplace, and we welcome everyone to be their true authentic self at triple j, no matter your background. We celebrate our staff’s diversity, their different experiences, abilities and worldview and we want to empower that through everything we do. It’s through our individuality and our collective energy that we bring great ideas, stories and music to young Australians on every platform where they live.

About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic, energetic, ideas-driven leader to propel triple j into the future. You know how to build and embolden a team of young, talented creatives and you’re passionate about content that reaches and authentically represents our audience. The triple j Manager leads the network’s future-focused content strategy, partnerships, projects, program commissioning and planning across digital and audio content on Unearthed, Hack and triple j.

About You

You are 100% switched on to how young audiences work, play, think and feel. You are endlessly curious to understand who they are and where they’re going. You’re passionate about reaching and representing them, making a difference and having an impact on young Australians across the country.

You’re energetic, innovative and know how to build a culture of creativity, inclusion and excellence.
You’re resilient and focused, plus you’re intuitive to the needs of a creative team. You love seeing others thrive and know how to coach them to continuously improve and grow their skills and careers in media. And you know talent when you see it.

You have exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop partnerships and meaningful stakeholder relationships at all levels. You’re a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, coupled with experience in editorial leadership. You are data-driven in your approach to decision-making and have experience in getting results.

You have a strong understanding of the strategic direction of triple j, plus a vision for its future. And you’re pumped for the most challenging and rewarding job of your career. Finally – you must love music.
