3AW lineup changes now the AFL is suspended

With the AFL season temporarily suspended due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, 3AW today announced the following changes to its schedule.

Where AFL matches were scheduled at the following times, these programs will now take their place:

THURSDAY & FRIDAY
1800-1900: Sports Day
1900-2000: Money News
2000-2400: Nights with Denis Walter

COVID19 moves some of radios biggest programs into isolation

Schedules for radio are being thrown into chaos with a number of high-profile presenters either confirmed COVID-19 cases, or self-isolating because of close contact with the disease.
 
Nine Radio has put Sydney stars Alan Jones and Ray Hadley, and Melbourne duo Ross Stevenson & John Burns into isolation. Hadley and Jones are broadcasting from their respective properties and Ross & John are holed up at Stevenson’s house.

Bartlett is back at 3AW

Nine Radio talk stations support bushfire recovery

In his return to radio this week, 2GB's Alan Jones visited the bushfire affected areas of of the NSW South Coast to see first hand the dmaage done and the recovery effort that will be needed.

"I have no idea how you manage," Jones said to locals after touring the affected area, getting hugs of thanks from the people he was speaking to.

In a powerful first show for 2020 Jones talked to politicians and affected locals, championing the need for continued support the the victims.

Nine Radio goes national overnight

Nine Radio will move to a national overnights program from next Monday morning.
 
Michael McLaren will be live across 3AW, 2GB, 4BC and network stations from 0000-0530, Monday to Friday.

3AW and Nick McCallum apologise for interview naming 'African guys' for a gang attack

3AW and Nick McCallum have had to apologise for an interview that wrongly blamed ‘African guys’ for a gang attack on Christmas Day.
 
The brother-in-law of the victim made the incorrect claim onair Friday evening, but on Saturday McCallum said the report was incorrect, writing on Twitter, “From later reporting it is clear that was wrong. We apologise to the African community.”
 

Dee Dee Dunleavy will host 3AW Afternoons

Melbourne identity Dee Dee Dunleavy will host 3AW Afternoons in 2020.
 
Dee Dee has been a fixture on Melbourne’s radio airwaves for more than 30 years and moves into the slot vacated by Denis Walter, who will present 3AW Nights next year.
 
The queen of Melbourne radio, Dee Dee was part of the groundbreaking Fox FM Morning Crew in the1980s, moved to the breakfast show on Gold FM in 2000, and currently co-hosts The Weekend Break on 3AW.
