iHeartRadio, and the CBAA have signed an agreement to allow community radio stations to join the iHeartRadio Australia service.

After three years leading the team at Melbourne’s Indigenous broadcaster 3KND, respected Indigenous media pioneer Jim Remedio is moving on. His position will be filled by former CAAMA Station Manager Gerry Lyons (GMan).

Grant Hansen, the Chairperson of 3KND parent body South Eastern Indigenous Media Association, paid tribute to Jim’s contribution:

“Jim has worked very effectively with the Board, and our station has made great strides in the last few years.

Barunga Festival live broadcast

The Barunga Festival is Australia's loved Aboriginal cultural festival will be broadcast live across the national thanks to CAAMA Radio and the TEABBA radio network.

This is made possible through a partnership with the Don’t make Smokes your Story campaign.

Across Australia, a range of alternative celebrations sprung up yesterday, most notably on community radio in Victoria.

3KND (Kool N Deadly 1503AM) in Preston, Victoria, held their very first Hottest 100 of the top 100 Indigenous songs of all time.
