92.5 Gold FM broadcasting Gold Coast Suns

Southern Cross Media’s 92.5 Gold FM has secured the rights as the local radio broadcast partner for the Gold Coast Suns during their inaugural AFL season.

As part of the partnership, Gold FM will broadcast all Gold Coast Suns home games live and local from The Gabba and Carrara Stadium as the Suns look to make their mark in the national AFL competition.

In a first for 92.5 Gold FM, a specialist call team will broadcast the games, including experienced commentator and reporter Bill McDonald leading as anchor, accompanied by AFL veteran turned 92.5 Gold FM breakfast host and sports show announcer Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt.

Everitt says he is delighted to be part of the Suns’ inaugural season following his own career that spanned some 291 games of AFL football:

“It’s great that we’ve now got a team representing the Gold Coast in Australia’s highest level AFL competition. I know that Bill and I, along with the whole team at 92.5 Gold FM are extremely proud, and really looking forward to partnering with the Suns to support them and bring all their home games live to the people of the Gold Coast.”

Gold Coast Media Centre General Manager Paul Bartlett has told radioinfo station staff are excited to be working with the Suns at the start of their journey in the 2011 AFL competition. “We will broadcast all the action live on 92.5 Gold FM for all our supporters in the local community in what will be a first for both the AFL and radio on the Gold Coast.”
