92.7 MIX FM asks listeners to spare a dollar for Daniel

92.7 MIX FM is calling on Sunshine Coast residents to spare ‘A Dollar for Daniel’ this Friday in a bid to raise funds to help the Daniel Morcombe Foundation to continue its great work.

The Daniel Morcombe case was the biggest police operation in Queensland history and has captivated the whole nation. The recent sentencing of Daniel’s killer has shown the determination of his parents Bruce and Denise Morcombe – but it does not end here for the Morcombe’s. Their fight to promote and improve Child Safety in Australia with the Daniel Morcombe Foundation will continue.

92.7 MIX FM want the community to know the Daniel Morcombe Foundation’s work promoting and improving Child Safety in Australia will continue even though the tragic case has come to a conclusion.

The station is asking people to donate “A Dollar for Daniel” this Friday the 21st March.

92.7 MIX FM has arranged with the Morcombe Foundation to have volunteers in 5 locations across the Sunshine Coast collecting $1 donations. Collectors will be at Sunshine Plaza, Kawana Shopping World, Noosa Civic Shopping Centre, Caloundra Stockland and Coles Nambour.

Daniel was abducted and murdered 7 December 2003. He was last seen waiting for a bus on Nambour Connection Road 2km north of the Big Pineapple, Woombye Queensland. Brett Cowan was arrested and charged on 13 August 2011 and was recently sentenced. Daniel’s remains were found in bush land near the Glasshouse Mountains on 21 August 2011.
