In Mandurah, 97.3 Coast FM and 91.7 The Wave are the recipients of a $122,000 government grant.
 
They are part of 107 regional news outlets across the country are set to benefit from the Government’s $50 million Public Interest News Gathering (PING) program, providing much needed support to regional television, newspaper and radio outlets during COVID-19.
 

Mandurah will be the ninth city in Australia and the first non-capital to have DAB+ digital radio, when the free to air broadcast technology is rolled out to Western Australia’s second largest city on Monday, December 23.
 
Commercial Radio Australia, CEO, Joan Warner, says, “We’re pleased to work with West Coast Radio to launch free to air DAB+ radio services in Mandurah in time for Christmas.
 

91.7 The Wave FM united with other community groups for Homelessness Awareness Day to offer support to the less fortunate within the Peel region, located on the west coast of Western Australia, about 75 km south of Perth.

91.7 The Wave in Mandurah has made big gains in the first Xtra Insights survey since March 2017, and the first since the station moved from 1116 6MM, picking up 15.5% to just trail 97.3 Coast FM as the most listened to station.

The Wave picked up audience in all demographics except 65+ where they were down just .08%.

With Gunners and Ali waving goodbye to 97.3 Coast FM, and moving down the corridor to 91.7 The WAVE , their replacements have been announced.

97.3 Coast FM breakfast personalities Gunners & Ali have welcomed a new addition into the studio as Ali Hill returns to the show with her baby boy Seth.

Ali is certainly showing working mums you can do both, returning to the airwaves after giving birth to her third child, Seth, in August and bringing him back to work with her, creating the temporary show “Gunners & Ali with Seth”, which aired over the past couple of weeks.

97.3 Coast FM has once again succeeded in filling the ‘Coast Cat’ with as many non-perishable food goods as possible for the Peel Community Kitchen. In fact, the ‘Coast Cat’ van was filled twice.
