ABC Goulburn Murray celebrates 80 years

ABC Goulburn Murray has been part of southern New South Wales and north east Victorian communities, since it first went to air as 2CO on the 16 December 1931. In 1996 the station moved to its current studio location in Wodonga and in 2000, it officially changed its name to ABC Goulburn Murray.

There have been some remarkable people who have contributed to ABC Goulburn Murray and it’s these people who have helped shape the station into what it is today including: some of the ABC greats Chris Masters, Bill Peach and Jane Singleton who went on to high profile careers in the media.

To celebrate their 80 year milestone ABC Goulburn Murray marked the occasion with some special outside broadcasts.

State-wide Drive presenter Kathy Bedford kicked off the celebrations last Thusday presenting her program live from Wodonga’s Gateway Island Visitor Information Centre.

Then Gaye Pattison and Matt Dowling from ABC Shepparton broadcast their breakfast shift from Sumsion Gardens followed by Joseph Thomsen who will present his Morning show.
