ABC Jazz reigns in Sydney DAB+ ratings

The results are in for DAB+ survey 7 for 2017. 

Melbourne digital audiences took to Double J, which nabbed the top spot with a share of 65%, gaining 7 percentage points to overtake Triple M Classic Rock, which recorded a 48% share with a loss of 15%.

The 80s iHeartRadio came in second with 61%, and ABC put in a strong showing, with its Jazz station taking a 44% share and ABC Extra gaining 6 percentage points. 

In Adelaide, Buddha Hits Radio and The 90s iHeartRadio both recorded 21% audiences shares, with Oldskool Hits Radio gaining 6 points to take second place on 20%. Double J maintained its 17% share, while ABC Grandstand on 7% lost 4 percentage points. 

ABC Jazz continues its reign, up 5 points for the lion’s share of Sydney digital audiences with 86%. Edge Digital came in second on 61% despite seeing an 11% loss, and triple j Unearthed gained 5 percentage points for an overall share of 39%.

Triple M Classic Rock gained ground in the Brisbane market, up 9 points to take the top spot with a 30% overall share. Coles Radio dropped 10 points to 28%, while smooth recorded the biggest overall gains with a 10% increase in audience share for a total of 25%. 

And in Perth, OldSkool Hits Radio tied with smooth on 28%, with Double J down a point on 24%.

The DAB+ summary report shows the cumulative audience for digital only stations, which is the total number of different (unique) people who listen to a DAB+ only radio station in that market for at least eight minutes (one quarter-hour), in a defined period.
