Ace Radio has been shuffling the deck in the past month

There has been plenty of movement within the Ace Radio Network in the past month.
Haylee Potts has commenced her radio career at Ace Radio's 3HA/Mixx FM Hamilton and will take on the role of workday announcer and work in commercial production. Haylee is an AFTRS graduate, and is the daughter of Duncan Potts, content director at SCA in Dubbo.

ACE confirms TRSN representation

CEO of the ACE Radio Network, Mark Taylor, has confirmed that The Radio Sales Network (TRSN) has been officially appointed to represent the network's Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula Radio station 3MP.

ACE Radio bought 3MP in July of last year and relaunched back to its original and much loved “Easy Music” format, and will concentrate on the Mornington Peninsula heartland of the station’s broadcast area, where it’s 1377 AM signal is crystal clear.

An old friend of the airwaves is making a comeback tonight as 3MP returns to Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula at 6 pm; set to target a 55+ demographic with an Easy Music format.
New owners, ACE Radio, intend to concentrate on the Mornington Peninsula heartland of the station’s broadcast area, where its 1377 AM signal is crystal clear.
Easy Music 3MP will also be available on DAB+ across Melbourne, as well as through iHeartRadio and RadioApp.

ACE Radio owners Rowly and Judy Paterson announced the purchase of the old 3MP frequency, 1377 AM and its Stereo DAB+ associated spectrum in Melbourne to staff this morning.
They told staff: “The addition of a Melbourne radio station to the ACE Radio network is a positive move for the growth and future of our company.

AFTRS's students Zoom around regional stations

When AFTRS’s Graduate Diploma Radio students weren’t able to visit regional stations this year as part of their course, it was decided instead to bring a little bit of Australia’s vast regional radio scene to them.

Using Zoom plus a whole lot of goodwill from radio practitioners, around the country, many who were once a student themselves at AFTRS, they got a first-hand taste of what it’s like to live and work outside the capital cities.

The Women of Influence podcast, hosted by Kate Meade of ACE Radio’s network breakfast show The Morning Rush, continues its streak of impressive guest interviews.
The episode looks at aspects of Keller’s radio and television career, from her early days feeling as if she did not have the power to speak up, to her current position at 57 years old, experienced, respected and in control; having found her voice and no longer being afraid to use it.

Ace Radio Founder Geoff Handbur, passed away today and the Ace Radio Network released the following statement.


It is with great sadness that the ACE Radio Network acknowledges the passing of its founding owner, Geoff Handbury AO. Geoff passed away peacefully today, aged 94, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Hamilton, Victoria.

Geoff began ACE Radio in 1994 with his late wife Helen and saw the company expand to house 13 stations and one newspaper whilst he was at the helm.
