bay 93.9 campaign #GeelongSaysNo

Hayden and Milly launch anti-bullying initiative.

When the news broke that 14-year-old Dolly Everett took her life as a result of bullying, Geelong’s bay 93.9 breakfast team Hayden & Milly launched the anti-bullying campaign ‘#GeelongSaysNo’.

#GeelongSaysNo started the conversation with local teenager Chloe Hayden, who turned her life around after being affected by bullying.

Sharing some of the battles she faced, Chloe has had an incredible journey and now inspires others with her message, ‘it’s so important to love each other and be kind, because you never know when it might be you in that position.’

Continuing the discussion, Hayden & Milly invited Robert Soldani, Principle of St. Roberts School, Newtown into the studio.

To raise awareness about the importance of the anti-bullying message, St. Robert’s held ‘Odd Socks day’. Mr. Soldani said their school prides itself on making ‘sure kids are safe, feel happy, glad to come to school and respected for whatever differences they have.

Mark Hyland, bay 93.9 Program Director said, ‘Hayden & Milly have been heart-broken by the many recent bullying reports and are adding their voices to anti-bullying campaigns. It’s so important bullying is wiped out and for bay 93.9, #Geelongsaysno is a priority.’
