Caralis and 2GB make peace

It might not win them the Nobel Peace Prize, but the last minute negotiating effort between 2GB and Bill Caralis could serve as a model for the Middle East.

The result is that the Caralis Super Radio Network will broadcast coverage of the two NRL preliminary rugby league finals this weekend and the Grand Final the following weekend on its NSW and Queensland regional network.

The following statement was made by a Caralis spokesperson to radioinfo late last night.

Agreement reached between the Caralis Super Network and 2GB will ensure that Ray Hadley’s call of the Panthers v Bulldogs and Roosters v Cowboys games will be heard in country rugby league’s heartland of NSW and south east Queensland.

The Caralis Super Network covers the major regional areas of Newcastle Dubbo, Tamworth, Murwillumbah, Tweed Coast, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Lismore, Taree, Gunnedah, Grafton, Moree, Inverell, Mudgee, Parkes, Toowoomba, Armidale, Ballina, Forster, Byron Bay, Yamba and Gympie/Noosa.

Caralis, a great rugby league supporter and former President of the Newtown club (The Jets) said, “We are looking forward to some great rugby league this weekend and we are very pleased that our network will continue to bring coverage of the preliminary finals to our very loyal listeners throughout NSW and Queensland”.
