ACE Radio have celebrated the 18th birthdays of both its Coast FM Warrnambool and Mixx FM Hamilton stations.

Warrnambool radio's Lois Chislett to retire at years end

Long-serving ACE Radio journalist, Lois Chislett, is set to retire at the end of the year.
 
Lois’ radio career began at 3YB Warrnambool in 1973, having completed her secondary education at St Anne’s College.
 
She started as a junior copywriter, writing scripts for radio commercials and was promoted to Department Head after 3 years in the job.
 

Random 30 gets Aced

The Random 30, Grant Broadcasters’ highly successful networked night show has added another eight stations from the ACE Radio Network, taking the tally to 26 regional stations Australia-wide.
 
The new stations from The ACE Radio Network include Edge FM, Coast FM, TRFM and four under the MixxFM brand.

Wild weather no match for Coast FM's Trampbusters

The wild weather conditions in Australia's eastern states this week have hit most communities in one way or another.

Stations have been reporting damage and traffic incidents, and helping out listeners in need.

In Warrnambool, the winds hit yesterday with such a force that there was destruction at every turn.

The roads were closed. Parks were flooded... and backyard trampolines were destroyed.

So Coast FM's Monkey, Loggy and the Big Fella decided to help - with Trampbusters.

97.3 Coast FM Breakfast Crew helping to raise money for Cure Cancer Australia

Most people don’t need an excuse to hoe into a bacon and egg barbecue breakfast, but there was added incentive at RAC Mandurah last Friday morning. 97.3 Coast FM teamed up with the auto club for a gold coin donation breakfast to raise funds and awareness for Cure Cancer Australia.
 
Current employee of the year for RAC Wes McClelland was diagnosed with lymphoma, a type of blood cancer in January of this year. Wes’s Warriors, a fundraising team formed in honour of Wes raised over nine hundred dollars from the barbecue breakfast.
 

Did the rain dance work?

Monday, March 17th marked 100 days without rain in Mandurah, the longest dry spell in the Peel region city since records began in 1907.
 
Captain Coast, aka Wade from the 97.3 Coast Crew, danced up a storm out the front of Coast FM earlier this week, with his unique interpretation of a rain dance, motivated by everyone’s favourite rain songs.
