RadioApp expands onto Google Nest

Google Nest has been integrated with RadioApp, the commercial radio industry’s official aggregator radio app, further expanding Australian radio’s accessibility across digital devices.
 
Now, more than 350 Australian AM, FM and DAB+ digital radio stations, including all commercial radio, ABC and SBS stations, are available via voice command on Google Nest speakers and displays.

Commercial Radio Australia and Edison Research have released an interactive tool to enable media buyers to better understand the behaviour shift of audio listeners in 2020.

For the first time in 2020, Edison Research has conducted a deeper dive into two of the key players operating in the Australian market; free-to-air commercial radio^ and Spotify’s free subscription service^^.

Online radio listening jumps in cars: Infinite Dial

Edison Research and Triton Digital's 2020 Infinite Dial webinar release of the survey was held in the early hours this morning Australian time and contains some interesting results for radio.
 
While AM/FM radio listening in cars remains steady and continues to attract 81% of US adults as the most used audio source, Online radio jumped from 28%-33%, retaining its lead over podcasts (28%).
 
CD players continued to decline, down to 41%.

Only two-thirds of Americans have at least one radio in their home

New information from the Infinite Dial 2020 from Edison Research and Triton Digital shows that 68% of all Americans say they have at least one radio in their home.

The average home now has 1.5 radios, down from double that number in 2008, while in that same year only 4% of Americans reported having no radio in their home, as compared to 32% today.

Smart Speaker ownership grows by 75%, but is the government listening?

The NPR and Edison Research Spring 2019 Smart Audio Report is showing that the number of Smart Speakers in households across the US is now at 118.5 million as of December last year.
 
Up from 66.7 million in the previous year, that’s an increase of 78% in twelve months with a further 57% of the remaining population (18+) saying they have at least some interest in owning a smart speaker.
 

Radio stays strong, podcast listening and smart speaker use grows : Infinite Dial

Radio has retained its place as the most used audio platform, while awareness and use of podcasts has increased steadily over the past year, and ownership of smart speakers has doubled, according to the findings of the 2019 Infinite Dial Australia Study released today at the Mumbrella Audioland conference in Sydney.

Key findings include: 

43 million Americans own a smart speaker
