Paul Gallen leaves radio host with suspected broken rib

This morning on Nova 96.9 Fitzy & Wippa their unsuspecting newsreader and Saturday Breakfast host, Matt De Groot was thrown in the ring for a surprise fight with Paul Gallen, leaving him with a suspected broken rib.  
 
Matt is a doppelganger for Sydney Swans legend Barry Hall, who takes on Gallen in the ring on November 15 and Gallen has been looking for sparring partners with a similar build to Barry Hall, and De Groot fits the bill.
 

Fitzy & Wippa stitch up radio rivals Jonsey & Amanda.

At a recent charity auction for ‘Save Our Sons’, Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa saw a ‘Jonsey & Amanda Meet and Greet’ WSFM station tour up for auction and convinced producer Lucy’s husband to secretly purchase it for them.
 
They were toying with using prosthetics but as Fitzy’s allergic to latex and 6”6 tall they decided to instead recruit Jett, 12, to go in under the guise of a ‘school project’ with a list of questions from the class.
 

Fitzy & Wippas Backyard Cricket at Kirribilli raise $15,000 for charity

The Backyard Cricket Challenge is in its second year, and yesterday two celebrity filled teams descended on ScoMo’s lawn at Kirribilli House, to throw the arm over on a day when there was more sledging than sixers.

Last night, Greg and Producer Brooke sneakily scored themselves tickets to Fitzy & Wippa’s Back To School Formal after entering a range of competitions for competing network stations.

A lover of games and being more competitive than necessary, the pair went undercover at the event with the intention of testing just how much love the radio industry has for AFTRS Radio and the NEXT station.

Wippa's gender reveal burnout

Michael “Wippa” Wipfli and wife Lisa, yesterday were surprised with a gender reveal burnout which sent pink smoke flying, thanks to co-host Fitzy.
 
Wippa thought he was heading to an interview but was stitched up with the most Fitzy gender reveal ever; a burn-out in a V8 Commodore at Sydney Dragway.
 
The Wipfli’s already have two boys with Ted (4) barracking for a third brother while little brother Jack (3) and Mum Lisa were hoping for a baby sister.

On Saturday Fitzy & Wippa co-host Sarah McGilvray & partner James (called “Garry” on air) were joined by their closest friends and family for what they thought was their Engagement party.
 
Unbeknownst to guests, the event was actually a secret wedding, highlighted when James younger brother, Johnathon, announced to a shocked crowd, “I’m going to let the cat out of the bag, a wedding happened today…
 

Fitzy joins Raise as an Ambassador

Nova radio host Ryan Fitzgerald is joining Raise, The Youth Mentoring Foundation as an Ambassador.
 
Raise Foundation is committed to impacting the wellbeing of young people through its early intervention, best practice in school mentoring programs.
 
Fitzy was introduced to Raise when he chose to be a part of their new, national creative campaign, Letters To My Mentor, developed by creative agency Channelzero to broaden awareness and drive mentor recruitment.
