Coles Radio dominates national Digital Radio

Coles Radio continues to lead nationally in the digital market with 254,000 listeners in front of Double J with 221,000.

The Triple M brands of Aussie, Classic Rock, Country and Greatest Hits have a combined audience of 362,000, while iHeart 80’s and iHeart 90’s combine for 316,000.

City by city, in Sydney Coles Radio now leads Edge Digital, while in Melbourne its Coles Radio in front of Double J and iHeart 80’s.

Looking at individual markets, the cumes for Survey 1 2019 have FOX FM's Fifi Fev & Byron (622,000) still able to claim the crown as Australia’s #1 program overall, just in front of Kyle & Jackie 0 (587,000).
 
FOX FM in Melbourne is still the country’s leading station in an individual market, with over 1.149 million listeners. Gold 104.3 added 54,000 to now have 1,039,000 in front of Nova100, KIIS 1065 and Nova 96.9, all with over 1 million listeners.

MediaWorks Radio remains the most popular radio network in New Zealand according to the latest GfK Total New Zealand Commercial Radio Survey, reaching 2,262,100 listeners every week across its nine radio brands - an increase of 53,200 from November 2016.

Total audience share for New Zealand is singing the same tune with MediaWorks stations laying claim to 51.4*** percent of the listening audience - a strong 14.2 percentage points ahead of its closest competitor.

Results for Survey 2 are due out tomorrow but as April 25th is firmly ensconced within the calendar as a public holiday, we have to wait until Thursday to find out the results.
 
So let's whet our survey appetite recapping on Survey 1.

For Nova Entertainment Melbourne proved to be the gun town.

smooth 91.5 grabbed the number one FM spot with a 9.4 share, toppling FOX on 9.1 after it plunged -1.5.

Mix hits the lead in Canberra

GfK Survey 1 results for the Canberra market have been handed down for 2017.

Mix 106.3 is the station listened to most All People 10+ with 20.2%, followed by Hit 104.7 with 18.4% and ABC Canberra 12.3%.

Survey dates for 2017 are available here.

For Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, survey 1 will kick off on January 22nd until March 4 with the final survey October 1 until December 9.

The capital city ratings are known as rolling surveys, having a fixed and known survey period where the sample is placed evenly across the survey weeks.
