Howie Games gets to 100 episodes

Sports commentator Mark ‘Howie’ Howard will publish the 100th episode of his podcast – The Howie Games next Thursday June 25.

“In my time watching and commentating sport, there are three iconic Australian sporting moments that stand out from the past 50 years,” Howie said.

“Two of the athletes behind these moments have told their story on The Howie Games – Cathy Freeman on her Sydney Olympic gold glory, and John Aloisi on ‘that’ goal. The third moment is covered in the 100th episode by an athlete who rarely speaks.”

The Howie Games, on PodcastOne Australia, has become one of Australia’s most successful sports interview-based podcast series.

“The show could not have reached 100 episodes without the time and trust of all our wonderful guests. To sit and chat in depth with so many fantastic athletes and personalities, to hear their stories and explore what they have overcome along the way, has been a real thrill for me,” Howie said.

“We also wouldn’t have reached this point without our listeners. To everyone that has ever given the show a chance or sent me messages about what the episodes have meant to them, I am truly thankful. You guys and girls rock!”

Head of PodcastOne Australia, Grant Tothill, said: “Those that have listened to The Howie Games know Howie has a very special ability to put his guests front and centre to give listeners access to what feels like a very private and personal conversation with of some of the biggest sporting stars in the world.

“To have achieved 100 episodes with the quality of people he has been fortunate enough to talk with, is a credit to Howie and his passion in creating The Howie Games.”
