The Infinite Dial Australia 2020 study released today by Edison Research shows 82% of Australians aged 12 and over listened to radio over the air, online or via catch-up podcasts in the last week, holding steady with last year’s 83% figure.
Edison Research and Triton Digital's 2020 Infinite Dial webinar release of the survey was held in the early hours this morning Australian time and contains some interesting results for radio.
While AM/FM radio listening in cars remains steady and continues to attract 81% of US adults as the most used audio source, Online radio jumped from 28%-33%, retaining its lead over podcasts (28%).
Only two-thirds of Americans have at least one radio in their home
New information from the Infinite Dial 2020 from Edison Research and Triton Digital shows that 68% of all Americans say they have at least one radio in their home.
The average home now has 1.5 radios, down from double that number in 2008, while in that same year only 4% of Americans reported having no radio in their home, as compared to 32% today.
AM/FM radio is still the leading preference for in-car audio in the USA according to the latest Infinite Dial survey.
In responses from participants aged 18 and up who have driven or ridden in a car in the past month, 81% said they have used AM/FM radio in a vehicle with Online radio getting a 28% share.
Digitally owned music (45%) and CD players (43%) were closest to radio consumption.
