DAB+ proves to be a winner in Canberra

Canberra’s additional DAB+ digital radio stations, which include Coles Radio, My Canberra Digital, KIX Country, The Edge, Club Lime and Hit Buddha, attract an audience of 54,000 listeners every week, according to GfK’s latest Canberra radio ratings survey.

2CC and 2CA move into new studios

Commercial radio in Canberra goes digital

  The Edge Digital – urban R&BCommercial radio will officially switch on DAB+ digital radio broadcasts in Canberra tomorrow providing digital quality sound and more station choice for listeners in the capital.
All four commercial radio stations, 2CA, 2CC, Mix 106.3 and Hit 104.7 will broadcast in digital, alongside several commercial digital-only stations, with more new stations to launch in coming months.

Listeners in Darwin can now tune in to commercial radio in digital quality sound, with the official switch on today of permanent digital radio broadcasts on DAB+.
Digital radio offers better sound quality and more station choice, with three extra DAB+ only commercial stations on air, KIX Country Music, Classic Rock Digital and 4TAB.

The World Tour of Country returns

Radio Snowy Mountains operator of FOREVER CLASSIC 2XL, SNOW FM and KIX COUNTRY Snowy Mountains has bought a new building in Cooma to house its Cooma broadcast operations.
The building is on Sharp Street in Cooma.
Radio Snowy Mountains will undertake a refurbishment of the building and fit out of management and advertising offices along with the construction of a studio for production of radio commercials.

David Greenwood to leave River 949

After 11 years as General Manager of River 949 Ipswich, David Greenwood is joining Grant Broadcasters as the GM of KIX Country.

"It's pretty hard leaving after 11 years - it's time the station had new energy," he said.

KIX Country broadcasts in a number of markets around Australia and while the network is based in Bunderberg, David will remain in Ipswich.

As previously reported, Gavin Flanagan will be the new General Manager.
