Broadcast veteran Leon Byner has choked back tears while signing off from his morning radio show for the final time after 23 years.
Bidding his loyal listeners farewell, the Adelaide radio legend says he will remain part of the FIVEaa family in 2023.
“The thing that makes me know I’ve earned my keep is that I can go home every day to the dogs and know that I’ve helped somebody out.”

Leon Byner will no doubt be a part of the family forever but I do actually think its about time they replaced those silly AKG C1000s microphones. They're instrument mics. They were never meant for the live broadcast studio.
