Labor MP for the Hunter region Joel Fitzgibbon talked about the importance of regional commercial radio today on 2SM, 2HD and statios on the Super Radio Network.

Speaking to Marcus Paul, Fitzgibbon talked about the importance of balanced responsible media in regional Australia, and the significance of commercial networks such as Bill Caralis' Supernetwork.

2CC signs new drive host

Talking Canberra 2CC has announced Chris Coleman will be joining the station as host of its drive time program, Canberra Live.

Marcus Paul resigns from 2CC

Marcus Paul has made a sudden exit from 2CC after four years with the station.

The Canberra drive show host left the station this morning and while he hasn't given any reason for his resignation, he did offer to stay on to see out the current survey period but was reportedly asked to leave.

He denied an interview with Maria Hawthorne, the former political staffer at the centre of the Joy Burch affair was to blame.

2CC PD Pete Davidson is over the moon with the result of the station’s fourth annual one day Radio-Thon for Canberra's Ronald McDonald House. 

In 12 and a half hours they raised $52,120 which will go a long way to helping maintain the vital services at Canberra's Ronald McDonald House.

"Seriously Wunsday? That’s the worst name ever," morning announcer Dan Jones has told radioinfo.
Jones reckons 2CC ripped off 104.7’s idea, and in retaliation, morning announcer Sarah Miller decided to call and offer 2CC a personalised 104.7 Onesie. The prank call went to air on Marcus Paul's 2CC drive show.
