New Zealand's Radio Hauraki has taken up a Triple M initiative to help men talk about suicide.

Stations all over Australia featured interviews and segments  this week for the suicide prevention charity R U OK.

It is the 10th year of the campaign, which seeks to make everyone aware of how to look after their mates by asking a simple question of support.

On Triple M, Gus Worland spoke to Jimmy Barnes about how he has faced his demons.
