ARN has appointed Mike Byrne as the new Content Director for WSFM. He commenced his new role today.
Mike joins ARN from his previous role as Group Content Director at Triple M Newcastle (KOFM) and hit1069 (NXFM).

Newcastle’s Triple M Call Team Returns for 2019

Newcastle’s 102.9 Triple M Call Team will return for the 2019 NRL season lead by Frank Barrett, who is joined by former Knights boy Matty Rodwell, 1997 Premiership winner Marc Glanville and Australian Kangaroos Assistant Coach Michael Hagan.
Michael Hagan says “I’m proud to be part of the local Triple M NRL call team and looking forward to a great year of footy, sharing the highs and the lows of the Knights season.”

Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss have opened KO FM's brand new studios.

The station has moved on from their Charlestown studios to new state of the art studios overlooking Newcastle Harbour at Honeysuckle.

 While the boys were there they also dropped the news that Cold Chisel will be the headline act, along with Spiderbait, at the first ever Coates Hire Newcastle 500 Supercar race on Saturday November 25.

Jeremy “JR” Ryan has been appointed KOFM’s Mornings announcer.

JR 'The Sports Guy' will still keep Newcastle and the Hunter up to date with everything sport during KOFM Breakfast with Tanya and Steve, but now he also has his own timeslot.

JR summed it up this way: “After 8 years on-air, I finally tricked them into giving me my own shift!”

Nick “Blanchy” Blanch will take on the Drive shift on KOFM, and will also produce KOFM’s Footy Call Team (calling Knights games live during the NRL season).

KO FM parts with David Collins

After joining KOFM in 2000, co-hosting the Number 1 rating breakfast show with Tanya Wilks, and most recently hosting KOFM’s Drive Show Rush Hour and producing KOFM’s Footy Call team, KOFM has announced David Collins will not be returning in 2016.
