News Corp add new hires to help with audio growth

News Corp Australia have made three appointments for the company’s on-demand audio arm, NewsCast.

Hareem Khan and Nina Young have joined as audio producers and Tiffany Dimmack as audio editor.

Khan joins the business from SBS where she was a producer on Dateline, and will be responsible for producing the company’s growing suite of news and current affairs content for brands such as news.com.au and The Australian.

Young was previously parenting editor for Kidspot.com.au where she self-produced and hosted the acclaimed podcast My Father the Murderer.

Young has moved into the company’s audio team to produce I Catch Killers with Gary Jubelin, host and produce the news.com.au podcast called I Swear I Never and develop and produce new podcasts.

Dimmack has previously worked in sound design and imaging for Nova Entertainment and created podcasts for Audible and Spotify.

As audio editor, Dimmack will oversee the production and sound design of the company’s many marquee podcasts along with the overall sound and imaging across the network.

News Corp Australia’s head of audio Del Fordham says that with these appointments NewsCast is positioning itself to launch a suite of new original content into 2022.

“Growing on our foundation in news, sport and lifestyle content, bringing three content creators of such a high calibre into the team will be instrumental in driving the expansion of our audio network over the next 12 months.

“We continue to invest in high quality and compelling audio and have some ambitious targets for original content creation and listenership as well as commercial and subscriber revenue goals in 2022.”
