Mike Hosking wins Broadcaster of the Year: NZ Radio Awards

Newstalk ZB has won Station of the Year (Network) at the New Zealand Radio Awards announced today with Mike Hosking being awarded the Sir Paul Holmes Broadcaster of the Year.
 
Kim Adamson and Phil Glifford were recognised for their Outstanding Contribution to Radio, while One Double X won Station of the Year (Non- Network)

Entries for the 2021 NZ Radio Awards open Monday 1 February and close Monday 1 March 2021.
 
NZ Radio Awards Committee Chair, Jana Rangooni says “…with next year being the celebration of 100 years of radio broadcasting in New Zealand, the 2021 Awards will be special and a time for the industry to reflect on the many great things it has done over the years and continues to do for almost 4 million New Zealanders every week”.
 

2020 NZ Radio Awards winners announced

The winners of the 2020 New Zealand Radio Awards have been announced today.
 
Regretfully, due to COVID-19, the annual live event was unable to take place this year.
 
The awards acknowledged the great content produced within all aspects of the radio industry. They recognise the on-air personalities, news & sports coverage, marketing, advertising and community involvement.
 

2020 NZ Radio winners announced Friday

The New Zealand Radio Industry Awards Committee will make a video announcement of the winners of the 2020 NZ Radio Awards this Friday.
 
This will be available to view on the RBA website at 12 noon (NZT) this Friday 15 May.
 
A full list of all the finalists & winners will be available on radioinfo following the announcement.

The finalists for the 2020 NZ Radio Awards have been revealed with the winners announced on Thursday 14 May.
 
The NZ radio industry has agreed the 2020 NZ Radio Awards will not be proceeding as a live event this year.

Given the events of recent weeks, the NZ radio  industry has agreed the 2020 NZ Radio Awards will not be proceeding as a live event this year.

Judging has already started and has been extended until Monday 20 April to allow judges more time to complete their categories given the additional pressures placed on everyone at this time.

The New Zealand Radio Awards began in 1978 and were created with the aim of supporting and recognising excellence in radio broadcasting in New Zealand, honouring personalities, programming, news and sports reporting, production and creativity within the industry.

Simon Barnett awarded Outstanding Contribution to Radio: NZ Radio Awards

The winners of the 2019 New Zealand Radio Awards have been announced at a special gala awards ceremony at Sky City Theatre in Auckland.

First place honors for ‘Network Station of the Year’ went to ZM Network.

‘Station of the Year–Non-Surveyed Market’ went to first time winners Sun FM in Whakatane with More FM Manawatu awarded ‘Station of the Year–Surveyed Market’.

The industry’s premier award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Radio’ was presented to Simon Barnett for his contribution to New Zealand radio.
