New Chair appointed at SCA as Peter Bush retires

Peter Bush has stepped down as Chairman of the Group at SCA and will retire as a director at the company’s AGM at the end of October.

Earlier this year Leon Pasternak informed the board that he also plans to retire as a director in October.

The Board has appointed former Lion Nathan CEO and current Chair of Metcash, Rob Murray as Bush’s successor.

Carole Campbell has also been appointed as a non-executive director and will join the board at the beginning of September.

SCA launches retail share offer to raise equity

Southern Cross Media has dispatched a retail offer to eligible shareholders inviting them to participate in a share entitlement offer for fully paid ordinary shares in the company.

The offer is 1.75 for 1 pro rata accelerated non renounceable fully paid shares, at an offer price of 9 cents per share. It closes on Monday 27 April.

Rhys Holleran, CEO of Southern Cross Austereo has announced his resignation this morning.

Peter Bush has been appointed Executive Chairman pending the announcement of the new CEO appointment. Rhys will cease his employment with the company on July 31st 2015, in the interim he will assist with leadership transition planning.

The board has appointed executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles to help it find a successor.

Southern Cross Media Group chairman, Peter Bush has announced the appointment of Helen Nash as Non Executive Independent Director to the SCMG Board.

Helen has assumed her new role with more than 20 years’ experience in brands and marketing, including seven years in fast moving consumer goods at Procter & Gamble, followed by three years in publishing at IPC Media.

SCA announces 25% drop in earnings and new Chairman

Southern Cross Media Group reported a 24.4% decline in revenue to $34.7m in its half yearly financial results ending 31st December 2014.

EBITDA declined 18.3% to $85.3m, an amount that falls within the 18%-20% predicted range given by SCA in October.

Group revenue declined by 7.3% to $307.6m and net debt declined to $573m, within the company's debt covenants.
