Peter Dutton tells Triple M Shane Martin’s visa won’t be reinstated

‘Dusty’s a great footy player but it doesn’t make his old man a good person.’

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton spoke with Triple M’s Hot Breakfast this morning about Richmond Norm-Smith medallist Dustin Martin’s father, Shane, who was deported to New Zealand.

‘The Rebels of which Mr Martin is the president, is an organisation that is involved in all sorts of activity, and we’ve made a decision to cancel the visa.

‘I’ve made a decision in relation to Martin and a number of other bikies involved in the distribution of drugs.

‘He doesn’t hold a valid visa, and I’ve been very clear in my decision in relation to Shane Martin.’

Hot Breakfast host Eddie McGuire asked if Shane Martin were able to reapply for a visa.

‘It would have to satisfy the character grounds. Dusty’s a great footy player but it doesn’t make his father a good person.’
