Radio 2 appointed National Basketball League official broadcaster

Philips Championship National Basketball League has appointed World Audio’s Radio 2 as the league’s official broadcaster Australia wide.

Every Friday night for the next 20 weeks, from 7.30-9.30pm, Radio 2 will broadcast “In the Zone”, a two hour program live across Australia – coast to coast – packed with basketball action.

WorldAudio CEO, Andrew Peter Thompson says: “The program will be filled with big game commentary and live updates with all the news and views from the top coaches and players. It will be hosted by Radio 2 Head of Network Sport, Colin Turner.”

NBL Broadcasting and Marketing Manager, Mark Schroder, says the Radio 2 network “has an enormous reach across Australia and is also aligned with our existing partner, FOX SPORTS, and its digital platform.”

“Radio 2 has already gained prominence as the official AFL game broadcaster of the Sydney Swans and is committed to working with the NBL to help grow the Philips Championship.”

“This is the first time our league has appointed an official national radio partner and it is an exciting step forward in our overall media strategy, which will be incredibly beneficial for our fans.”
