RTRFM's Neon Picnic is on in March

Perth’s RTRFM are holding their annual family friendly Neon Picnic, at the Hyde Park Amplitheatre, on Saturday March 21st.

The station is taking radio to the park with their line-up of Saturday shows; Global Rhythm Pot, Homegrown, and Drastic on Plastic, plus special musical guests including violinist Rupert Gunther, punk rock vibes of Rinehearts and a very special Wanjoo To Country from Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse.  

RTRFM joins the Global Climate Strike action on Friday

This Friday RTRFM 92.1 will disrupt regular programming to join the millions of people across the globe taking urgent action for the planet by participating in the Global Climate Strike action, with a special live broadcast from the Perth Cultural Centre.
 
Breakfast presenter Taylah Strano will be interviewing arts and cultural workers fighting for climate action ahead of the rally and march towards Forrest Place at 10am.
 

RTRFM's Radiothon begins tomorrow

RTRFM's annual subscription drive, Radiothon 2019, begins this Friday and runs until Sunday 25 August.

The financial support gained during Radiothon makes up 30% of the stations annual income enabling them to continue to make the independent radio which they see as an essential part of a vibrant local culture and diverse media landscape.

The Early Bird Launch begins 6am tomorrow with the Radiothon Party at 7pm Saturday with free admission for subscribers.

RTRFM find the right balance for International Women's Day

RTRFM 92.1 are celebrating International Women's Day with a full day of talks, music, arts and more presented by the women of Perth's community radio station.
 
With the theme this year of Balance For Better, RTRFM wanted to look into problems facing all of us when trying to find a greater and more equitable balance in day to day living.
 
On the morning talks show, Artbeat, there'll be a panel discussion about equity in organised and emotional labour, plus interviews with experts and local female musicians.

Karen Lee is the new GM at RTRFM, bringing to the station many years of experience in creative industries working in the private, not-for-profit, and public sectors across music touring and events, arts and community projects, and business management. 

Stu MacLeod leaves RTRFM

After 3 years as General Manager of RTRFM, Eskimo Joe guitarist and co-founder, Stu MacLeod has informed the station of his decision to stand down to take up the role of General Manager of Fairbridge Festival.
 
Having joined in 2015, he leaves the station in a good position both financially and culturally, but the decision did not come lightly, with MacLeod saying it was “difficult to let go of this beautiful thing.”
