Peter Donegan hosting new Crocmedia radio series

One of Australia’s most respected sports presenters, Peter Donegan is embarking on a new project to celebrate the lives of Australia’s best sportspeople.

Launched last weekend, Donegan will host a new radio program,This Is Your Sporting Life, airing each Sunday at 7.30am on SEN and partnered by Tobin Brothers.

The program fits Tobin Brothers' objective of “celebrating lives” and follows the success of This is Your Football Life and Great Australian Lives.

Pacific Star's 36% profit increase

Pacific Star Network's recorded a profit before tax of $1.45 million, up 36.7% on the previous year, according to its annual report, released today.

The result was achieved through "tight cost management resulting in a 1.6% reduction in day to day operating costs over the period."

A strong EBITDA result of $1.87 million was achieved, up 19.1% on the comparative period (2013: $1.57 million). This result was at the top end of the earnings guidance of $1.6-$1.9 million.

Pacific Star Network reports profit increase of 29.5%

Pacific Star Network has reported a profit increase of 29.5% in it's Preliminary Final Report for the year ending 30 June, 2014 resulting in a full year dividend of 1.6 cents.

The ASX listed media company owns two Melbourne AM commercial broadcasting licenses and broadcasts 24/7 on 1377 MyMP and 1116 SEN and has recently aquired the Inside Football Magazine.

SEN 1116 embarks on major digital overhaul of online assets

Next Digital, headquartered in Melbourne, was recently appointed by SEN 1116 to strengthen the radio network’s online presence.

The partnership will focus on creating the best user experience for SEN and MyMp listeners and the commercialisation of the network’s digital assets.

Rex Hunt launches new program at new station

Veteran AFL caller Rex Hunt is joining SEN with a new type of footy program.
Hunt will celebrate the lives and reveal the untold stories of AFL legends through a new radio program, This Is Your Football Life, due to launch this Sunday, 13 April.
Hunt will interview and celebrate the lives of some of the AFL’s greats. The anticipated line-up includes John Kennedy Senior, Ian Stewart, Sam Newman, Shane Crawford and Barry Cable.

Profit up for SEN and MyMP

Reduced operating costs have genereted a 62% profit rise for Pacific Star, the owner of SEN and MyMP in Melbourne.

The listed company has reported flat revenue of $7.7 million in its interim financial report, with profit from ordinary activities, before tax, up 62% to $785,000. Pacific Star paid a dividend of 0.7 cents per share. Operating costs were down 3.4%. Pacific Star also publishes sports magazines.
