Mike Andersen takes down international champ

The All Access Worldwide Radio Summit at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel was held last week.

And Mike "Sideshow" Andersen, who does the imaging for SCA's Triple M captured the title of World’s Best Imager, taking on three-time Iron Imager Champion Dan Kelly, Creative Services Director of WPLJ and NASH-FM New York, in the head-to-head live Benztown audio imaging competition.

Iron Imager is the first and only competition of its kind.

Hamish and Andy to sign "massive deal" with Seven?

According to showbiz reporter Peter Ford, Southern Cross Austereo's Hamish and Andy are about to sign a “massive” deal with Channel Seven with projects to include the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Ford tweeted the ‘exclusive’ last night.
The pair were at Seven in 2004 and have done projects for Nine and Ten.
Their Gap Year series on Nine was a hit for Hamish and Andy and won a Logie for Best Comedy Series.

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has appointed Kevin Morrell as its Head of Data & Analytics effective Monday 29th February 2016.

In this newly created role Kevin will focus on building and implementing SCA’s data strategy.

Southern Cross Austereo has released the 2016 Half Year results showing a 25% leap in profits.

"We're delighted that we've been able to accelerate the balance-sheet repair and get to a position where the company is financially sound," Mr Blackley, who joined Southern Cross in June, told Fairfax Media.

The concept of  #thisislocal came out of SCA’s Digital Bootcamp and is now up and running and localised in Albury/Wodonga as #thisistheborder and in Townsville as #thisistownsville.  

"I would never go back to SCA" - Kyle

Kyle and Jackie O have spoken out amid rumours the radio duo were in talks with SCA for a $20 million contract to leave KIIS 1065.
“I would never go back to Austrero, even if they gave me the radio station” –  was the reaction to the reports from Kyle on KIIS 1065 this morning.
Meanwhile Jackie confirmed that she hasn’t been contacted by SCA at all.

The AFTRS Radio Content and Program Directors Course is open for enrolments.

The newly updated course written by Craig Bruce - Former Head of Content at Southern Cross Austereo and Fyona Smith at AFTRS is designed to develop students’ programming, management and leadership skills to a professional standard.

It provides an understanding of the elements involved in radio programming and requires participants to identify and apply skills and knowledge within a workplace context.
