triple j Unearthed have announced that the winner of this year’s Unearthed High competition is Teenage Joans from Gleeson College in Adelaide, South Australia.
Fronted by Tahlia Borg and Cahli Blakers, Teenage Joans have been making music together for two years.
The ABC will support more than 200 Australian productions and new content ideas through its $5 million Fresh Start Fund, to help safeguard local content and creativity against the impact of COVID-19.
The fund includes support for new science and history podcasts, radio dramas and new series examining major moments and big ideas that changed Australia and the world.

Today’s recipients will receive up to $7000 per grant, to help them record new music, produce music videos, create sustainable merchandise and much more
triple j will celebrate Reconciliation Week with triple j Unearthed’s daily TOPS program, featuring a week-long Indigenous Takeover.
Kicking off at 5:30pm weekdays from Wed 27 May, the TOPS Indigenous Takeover will highlight the country’s most exciting new Indigenous Australian artists whose songs were uploaded to triple j Unearthed in 2020.
Last month triple jUnearthed shared a rare one-off sample pack, featuring sounds made by some of Australia’s leading musical minds including Flume, Tame Impala, Amy Shark, Tkay Maidza, Middle Kids, The Jungle Giants, Tash Sultana and G Flip.
