This year, on Saturday 14 September, triple j is taking Hilltop Hoods, Meg Mac, Ocean Alley and G Flip to Lucindale on the idyllic South Australian Limestone Coast, cozied up to the Victorian border and only a few hours away from Adelaide for the One Night Stand.

The people have decided, Ruby Fields will guest host triple j Breakfast next week.

Before they head off on holiday, Ben & Liam put it to the triple j listeners to ask which host they’d like to hear on triple j Brekkie next week and when Tim from Geelong threw Ruby’s hat in the ring, the textline was unanimous… Ruby Fields FTW.

triple j got to know Ruby in 2017, and it wasn’t long before she scored a top ten spot in the 2018 Hottest 100 for her haunting hit ‘Dinosaurs’.

triple j’s massive, free all ages One Night Stand concert is back on Saturday 14 September, taking a blockbuster bill to a town somewhere in Australia that doesn’t usually have access to epic live music events.

Chris Winter, one of the founding announcers at the original Double Jay and a driving force, especially in the early days, of triple j, has passed away.

"He had been very ill for the past 6 months, heart failure and I think complications from his life long condition as a type one diabetic," said Peter Wall today. To quote Marius Webb: "I think we all agree he deserves the title “legendary.”

Double J turns five years old on Tuesday 30 April and is celebrating half a decade of incredible moments, memories and music.
The digital station was launched in 2014 with a live broadcast from Melbourne’s Kelvin Club, hosted by Myf Warhurst, and aimed at the over 30s.
Across the day, Double J presenters Zan Rowe, Karen Leng and Tim Shiel will each be reflecting on their favourite stories, artists and songs from the past five years.
