Southern Cross Austereo surveyed more than 6,000 listeners, across the Triple M and Hit Network’s, about the about the upcoming election and came up with some surprising results.
Questions ranged from the serious, e.g. key election issues and political integrity, to the lighter side of politics e.g. who they’d install as PM, and which pollie they’d prefer to have a beer with.

James Hird to join Triple M Footy this weekend

After a 20-year radio hiatus, Essendon champion James Hird will return to Triple M, this time as a regular of the footy call team.

Hird appeared on Triple M’s Hot Breakfast with Eddie, Wil and Darce this morning for an in-depth interview, during which he announced he will be joining the Triple M footy team.

Last night Veteran Richmond forward Jack Riewoldt revealed the Tigers will boycott Triple M radio this week saying the club's move had been driven by "a couple of senior players".

Collingwood President Eddie McGuire is under fire after talking live on Triple M from the MCG's "Big Freeze" event last Monday, along with North Melbourne chair James Brayshaw and Wayne Carey joking about taking bets to get football journalist Caroline Wilson to take part in the event.
 The Big Freeze has celebrities slide into a pool of ice-cold water to raise funds for motor neurone disease.

Seb Costello, the newsreader on Triple M Melbourne’s Hot Breakfast is on the road.

Generally in breakfast radio it's the hosts that travel the globe leaving the newsreader at home.

But this week the Hot Breakfast has switched the script sending Seb overseas to Cleveland & San Francisco to cover the NBA finals for Triple M, with bulletins every half hour live from the states. 

"We did the "Fight of the Century" last month and then both Bogut & Dellavadova qualified for the NBA finals, so we were off again."
