TuneIn and Apple collaborate to introduce Siri voice control on Apple devices

TuneIn has teamed up with Apple to offer listeners access to TuneIn’s more than 100,000 global radio stations on all Siri-enabled devices and to 50 million Apple Music subscribers.

This collaboration comes follows Apple’s release of iOS13, which introduces a new radio experience to the world’s 1.4 billion Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, CarPlay and HomePod.

TuneIn was a first mover in the voice assistant space, now bringing its integration expertise to Apple by offering sports fans, news devotees and radio enthusiasts alike the ability to hear the voices they trust on their favorite Siri-enabled devices with a voice command.

The complete feature will be rolling out to Apple Music and all Siri-enabled devices internationally this week.

Tony Archibong, Vice President, Distribution & Business Development, TuneIn says: “As our 75 million users around the world can attest, radio is one of the most popular categories of audio listening on connected devices, and this important partnership serves to heighten our user experience and be everywhere our listener is.”

TuneIn’s radio stations can be accessed in 197 countries on more than 200 different platforms and devices.

Recently major broadcasters, such as the BBC, have begun to remove their streams from TuneIn in favour of taking  control of thier own digital transmissions rather than giving the benefits of their work away to a third party.
