16 Aussie artists are about to Level Up with triple j Unearthed

triple j Unearthed is giving grants to 16 emerging Australian artists to help them ‘Level Up’ their music career during the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Today’s recipients will receive up to $7000 per grant, to help them record new music, produce music videos, create sustainable merchandise and much more
 
The grants, which are part of the ABC’s wider Fresh Start Fund, are designed to help independent Australian musicians grow and create incredible local content, while supporting the Australian music industry in a time when they need it the most.
 
From Dunsborough in Western Australia to Townsville in Far North Queensland, the triple j Unearthed ‘Level Up’ Grant recipients show the breadth of amazing Australian talent rising through the ranks.

In addition to these categories, an extra grant has been awarded to Perth pop outfit Alter Boy who will be creating an accessible music video featuring Auslan performances from the band’s three deaf/hard-of-hearing members.
 
This morning on triple j Breakfast the band explained that accessibility needs are often an afterthought for a musical projects, but with this grant Alter Boy will create a music video made for Deaf people, by Deaf people, and that supports wider exposure to Deaf language, community and culture.
