4BC scores 5 finalists in Commercial Radio Awards

Brisbane’s Talk Station Radio 4BC has 5 finalists nominated for the 2004 Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs).

4BC General Manager David McDonald has told radioinfo he is “delighted” with the 5 finalists from 4BC being announced for the prestigious awards, which will be held at the new Gold Coast Convention Centre on 16 October 2004.

4BC Breakfast Show hosts John Miller and Ross Davie are finalists for the BEST ON AIR TEAM, which is consistent with the duo’s recent ratings success.

Rupert McCall who is known in sporting circles for his poetry and guest speaking, has picked up a nomination for the BEST NEW TALENT ON AIR after only joining 4BC full time last year. McCall is now a regular on the Breakfast show and hosts the very popular SATURDAY SPORTS SHOW from midday on Saturday’s with Dean Miller.

Other finalists are BEST NEWS PRESENTER Walter Williams, the 4BC Sales Team for BEST STATION SALES ACHIEVMENT, and local comedian Chris Hague has been nominated for BEST NEW TALENT OFF AIR for his work as an on air Producer for various 4BC shifts.

McDonald says these nominations “cap off a very successful 12 months for the station both on and off the air.”
