82,000 people attend NAB Show in Las Vegas

HD Radio was a popular topic for radio people at the NAB Convention this month in Las Vegas. With the approval of increased digital sideband power, more stations appear ready to move ahead with digital radio now. Over 82,000 media professionals attended the 2010 NAB show from 153 countries.

3D television was a dominating force at the conference, and will prove the next technology fad for media consumers all over the world.

Mobile phone applications for radio stations were also a feature of this year’s NAB Show, as were IP signal switching and IP based mixer desks.

Since 1987, the NAB Crystal Radio Awards have recognized radio stations for their outstanding year-round commitment to community service. This year the ten 2010 NAB Crystal Radio Award recipients were:

KBHP-FM Bemidji, Minn.

NAB Executive Vice President Dennis Wharton said: “Content professionals from across the globe turned out in force at the NAB Show, and we’re delighted by the extraordinarily positive feedback from both attendees and exhibitors,.
