ACRA tallies by network

Southern Cross Austereo were the dominant network in this years ACRAs with 30 awards overall, including 12 in metro markets.
 
They also dominated provincial markets with 9 awards.
 
The SCA network was represented in 28 of the 42 categories selected by Commercial Radio Australia across metropolitan, provincial, country and syndication/production company, covering news, talk, sport, music and entertainment.
 
Notable among the awards on Saturday night for SCA was Radio’s ‘Godfather of Rock’ Lee Simon’s induction into the Radio Hall of Fame, just weeks after his retirement from Triple M and an incredible 47 year career.

SCA’s PodcastOne  were awarded the Best Original Podcast, Unbranded for ‘Mum Says My Memoir Is A Lie’, produced by Rosie Waterland, and through Triple M Sydney, they also won the Engineering Excellence award for Voyager 2.0 : API powered asset management going to the team of  Phil Elzerman, Dan Jackson & Cameron St. Clair.

While ARN only had a total of 9 ACRA’s  overall, they did snare the Best On-Air Team (Metro FM) category with the Kyle & Jackie O show.

Among Nova’s awards were Best Digital Radio format for Coles Radio; Coles Radio Team, NOVA Entertainment, Best Original Podcast (Branded) ‘Modern Babies’ Genea & the Nova Entertainment Podcast Team and Best Radio Show Podcast for Chrissie, Sam & Browny by the team of Chrissie Swan, Sam Pang & Jonathan Brown.

Macquarie Radio, likewise, may not have had a huge number of awards, but domintate with Best On-Air Team (Metro AM), won by the Continuous Call Team (Ray Hadley, Bob Fulton, Darryl Brohman, Erin Molan, Mark Riddell, Chris Warren & Mark Levy, 2GB), and Ben Fordham, 2GB’s drive time host, won the Best Talk Presenter for the fourth time and was also awarded the prestigious Brian White Award for Radio Journalism (Metro) while the  Best Current Affairs presenter was won by 3AW morning presenter Neil Mitchell bringing his ACRA award winning total to 21.

The ACE network, with ten awards overall, dominated the Country section, while Grant Broadcasters total of 12 awards was spread evenly across their provincial, country and non-metro stations.

Grants winners included Katie Woolf; Mix 104.9, Darwin, for the Brian White Award for Radio Journalism (Non-Metro).

Super Network won 4 ACRAs: Best Newcomer On Air Provincial for Paris Humphrey from OneFM Tamworth, Andrew Andrews from Real FM Mudgee for Best Achievement in Production, Melanni Heldon from Zoo FM Dubbo for Best Music Special, along with Kristy Cooper from 2DU & Zoo FM for Best Direct Salesperson.

Resonate and SEN received the Best Station Sales Achievement awards, 4SB Sales, Kingaroy for Non Metro, and the SEN Direct Sales Team for Metro.

Showing that there is still a place for smaller networks to shine, Bathurst Broadcasters Sarah Boorer, 2BS, is the Best Talk Presenter (Country)

The Andy Wells Media team  of Barry Bissell, Jeff Jenkins & Andy Wells produced the Best Music Special by a Syndication/Production Company with Fleetwood Mac – Rumours.
