AFTRS Graduate Diploma Radio students’ latest pop up prac, 2RS, launched this week and streams until Friday 13 June.

2RS aims to simulate a regional hub station, to give students the experience of broadcasting to regional listeners. The simulation covers the areas of Nowra, Wollongong, Lithgow, Bathurst, the Central Coast, Muswellbrook and surrounds.

Students have been out to each market to get a local feel and make contacts with local stations, all of which gave great support during the visits.

2RS’ target is 35+, core 39-45, AC, ‘local news, great music’.

The group of 18 students will emerge later this year with a broad range of digital/cross platform skills and will be available for internship in late October/early November.
