AFTRS Open Day is this Saturday

AFTRS Open day is going online this year.

On Saturday August 8, the nation’s premiere screen and broadcast school is virtually opening its doors to prospective students and their families who will be able to explore the school online.

People can do a virtual tour, meet expert tutors, get the lowdown on 2021 courses and get tips on enrolment and applications.

Beginning at 10am, there will be Q&As and information sessions about AFTRS’ 2021 offering, including the Graduate Diploma in Radio, Industry and Short Courses, AFTRS’ postgraduate program and AFTRS Bachelor of Arts: Screen production.

Across the day, at ‘Meet the Mentor’ sessions, prospective students will hear from members of the Bachelor of Arts Screen: Production team and learn about life as a student.

AFTRS’ Heads of Discipline and senior lectures, industry experts across multiple disciplines, will be available to share their knowledge throughout the day.  Participants are encouraged to book in for these sessions as spots are limited.

There will also be a First Nations session, with AFTRS’ Joseph Cardona leading a conversation with Indigenous students and alumni about opportunities at the School.

AFTSR CEO Nell Greenwood said, “AFTRS remains a flourishing centre of excellence and creativity where, despite the restrictions of Covid-19, there is still so much that’s exciting and innovative happening every day. We are really looking forward to welcoming prospective students and their families and encourage them to join us online on Saturday to meet our teaching staff, students and alumni and get to know our extraordinary school.”

The day concludes with a screening of all five episodes of the hugely popular AFTRS student web series What’s Your Flava, followed by a student panel with Q&A.
