This morning vega 95.3’s Tony, Bec and Mikey presented their special Mothers Day edition of the show with a live audience of vega listeners & their mums, the star attraction being Andre Rieu.
Rieu – who has sold more CD’s & DVD’s in Australia over the last 2 years than any other artist across any genre, including rock and pop – made the startling revelation that he cuts his own hair.
A dumbfounded Mikey Robins asked the searching question, “You know you’re rich right?”. Trapped by Robins’ cunning interrogation, Rieu had little choice but to agree.
However, Reiu said that no matter how much money he has, he enjoys cutting his own hair and encouraged Mikey to try it one day. No doubt, that and bungee jumping are now at the top of Robbins’ to-do list.
Breakfast for the lucky mums was “created” by Star City’s Astral Chef, Sean Connolly. Other special guests included Prof Kerryn Phelps & her daughter, dietician Rose Fronzek as well as Craig McLachlan, starring in the new production of Chicago.
84-year old vega listener and Reiu groupie, Marian, asked Andre if he received her opal cufflinks given the last time he came to Australia. Rieu said he did, and he wears them quite a bit. She was excited to say the least, along with the other mums below.
