Annika Smethurst comments on the AFP raid, the high court ruling and the personal costs

This morning on PodcastOne‘s new daily news program,The Briefing, Annika Smethurst opened up to co-host Tom Tilley about the High Court’s decision that an AFP raid on her house was invalid.

While the Court ruled that the warrant used to raid her Canberra home was invalid, the evidence seized has not been destroyed, and she could still face prosecution.

Annika explains

  • What it was like to be ready to go work one morning when 7 federal police showed up at her door, and how her life changed from that moment
  • What is was like to hear Bono mentioning her case during a U2 concert and Amal Clooney’s weighing in on the case
  • Annika talks about the incredible intrusion of being a millennial and having the police go through her phone seeing her intimate and personal world of notes, screen shots, texts to friends.
  • Has it been worth it? Would Annika do it again?
