APN announces board changes after INM sell down

ARN’s parent company, APN News & Media Limited, has announced the appointment of Sir John Anderson to the Company’s Board, as an independent non‐executive director.

The Company also announced Vincent Crowley, a director representing Independent News & Media PLC (INM), would not be seeking re‐election at the APN Annual General Meeting on 6 May 2015, following the recent share sell‐down by INM of its entire 18.6% stake in APN.

The sell down was finalised this week, with a number of significant major shareholder transactions announced to the stock exchange in the past few days.

John Anderson has extensive commercial and Board experience, having held senior roles in the New Zealand banking and finance industry, including being previous CEO of ANZ National Bank, and is currently a director of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

APN News & Media chairman, Peter Cosgrove, said:

“The decision by Sir John Anderson to join the Board is a strong endorsement of what has been achieved over the past two years in the turnaround of APN, and also the future direction of the Company”.

Vincent Crowley was financial director of APN News & Media from 1996 to 2000 before being appointed chief executive of the Company from 2000 until 2002. He has been a non‐executive director of APN since 2009.
